About the event

We are delighted to announce the Sixth Edition of the RGNUL National Sports & Entertainment Law Mediation Competition 2024, organised by the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab and India’s leading law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. The competition is scheduled to take place in online format from 29th to 31st March, 2024. The competition will host teams from all across India, chosen based on the experience and accomplishments of the universities in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. The objective of the competition is to instill soft-skills of mediation and commercial awareness in law students from across the globe, set to practice law.

COMPETITION FORMAT

The competition will be held in an online mode through Webex. There shall be two preliminary rounds followed by quarter final rounds, semi-final rounds, and a grand finale. The two member Negotiating Team will comprise of a client and a counsel who will mandatorily have to play both roles at least once during preliminary rounds.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

  • Institutes interested in sending across a team must fill the provisional registration form latest by 20th February 2024. 
  • Upon selection by the Organising Committee, an email confirming the slot of the institute along with the final registration form and payment link will be sent on the concerned email ID (either of the registered ADR Centre or of the point of contact). 
  • The institutes must complete the payment of registration fee and fill the final registration form within a period of 72 hours of the receipt of confirmation of slot mail. 
  • The Registration fee for the competition is INR 3000/- per team (exclusive of 18% GST). 
  • Please note that this fee is non-refundable. Final registration of the team is subject to the successful payment of the registration fee within the stipulated time.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

  • 27th February - Last date for Provisional Registration 
  • 1st March - Last date for Final Registration and Payment
  • 5th March - Release of Competition Problem
  • 12th March - Last date to seek Clarifications
  • 20th March - Release of Clarifications
  • 29th March - Inaugral Ceremony
  • 30th March - Preliminary & Quarter Final Rounds
  • 31st March - Semi-Finals, Finals and Valedictory Ceremony
