Dear Readers,
Greetings from CADR, RGNUL.
We hope that you and your loved ones continue to remain well and safe.
The July Issue of the CADR Newsletter is now out.
CADR Newsletter – July 2020
It has been a positive month, despite the continued crisis. ICC’s Arbitration Statistics evince a rise in arbitrations in 2019 as compared to the previous year. Diversity has been the war-cry for much of this year and of late, and ICCA’s report on gender diversity in arbitrations has been welcomed by the community.
Additionally, regional institutions are working to adapt to global practices in arbitrations. In the future, it is expected that arbitral institutions, besides offering effective dispute resolution services, will also develop a global community free of barriers to diversity and dedicated to heralding changes.
It’s been a busy month for us at CADR too, as we continue serving the ADR Community with events and research. We organized a Masterclass on the evolving concept of ‘Hearing’ in International Disputes featuring Mr. Garv Malhotra (Managing Associate, Collyer Law, Singapore) as a facilitator.
CADR’s blog witnessed yet another successful month with diverse range of pieces from ‘Confidentiality in International Commercial Arbitration’ to ‘Blend of Mediation and Mental Health‘. The Blog continues to accept submissions on rolling basis.
August promises to be an equally exciting month with another course on international taxation in post BEPS world, more webinars and much more in the works. Follow this space for details!
Each volume follows a vigorous process of compilation and is vetted twice – including by industry professionals. For more information on how we create the Newsletter, you may check our Note.
The Newsletter initiative began with the observation that there exists a lacuna in the provision of information relating to ADR to the practicing community, and we wanted to provide a solution to the same. In keeping with that, we are glad to have many practitioners and students subscribe to the Newsletter and the Blog after the launch of the first issue.
To subscribe to the CADR Newsletter, you may send us an email at adrc@rgnul.ac.in. Additionally, you may subscribe to the CADR Blog via our homepage and you will receive a notification whenever we launch a volume of the Newsletter.
As always, we await with bated breath for your feedback on our Newsletter. We hope to hear from you soon!
Warm Regards, Mohit Dang, Head of Research, Centre for Alternate Dispute Resolution.
